A Memorable Visit to Exeter College, Oxford University

A group of our Sixth Form students recently had the fantastic opportunity to spend a day at Exeter College, Oxford University, immersing themselves in the experience of student life at one of the world’s top institutions.
The visit kicked off with an insightful session led by college staff and student ambassadors, who provided a first-hand perspective on studying at Oxford. They discussed the key differences between Oxford and other universities and offered invaluable advice on tackling interview questions—an essential part of the application process.
Students then explored the historic grounds of Exeter College, taking in the stunning chapel and picturesque gardens with breathtaking views of the iconic Radcliffe Camera, part of the renowned Bodleian Library.
One of the most unforgettable moments was dining in the grand Jacobean hall, where students enjoyed a meal in the same setting as countless scholars before them.
In the afternoon, the group participated in an interactive workshop at the History of Science Museum. They had the chance to handle an astrolabe—an ancient scientific tool used for astronomical calculations—and examined a chalkboard featuring equations from Albert Einstein’s second Oxford lecture, offering a fascinating glimpse into the history of scientific thought.
This inspiring trip provided students with a valuable introduction to university life and the excitement of academic exploration at a world-class institution.
