Students Dive into Script Writing with BAFTA-Winning Playwright
On Friday, students enjoyed an all-day script writing workshop led by Janys Chambers, a BAFTA-winning playwright, actor, producer, and director. In addition to her work for Emmerdale and Coronation Street, Janys has recently been developing a theatre piece about an Osprey's journey from Scotland to Africa.
During the workshop, students learnt about the process of creating scripts and monologues. They had the chance to write their own pieces and perform them in an industry-style audition. Students also had the opportunity to ask Janys questions about her career and how she got into the industry.
The students found the day intense but enjoyable, leaving many feeling passionate and encouraged about potential futures in the performing arts.
