The Scott College litter pick team joined forces with community litter-picking group Clean Our Patch to collect five bags of rubbish in just one hour in Stoke.
The Scott College litter-picking group go out every Monday to clean the area around the school and were joined by Rosanna and Ash from Clean Our Patch to give the path which runs down the side of Scott College a really good clean.
“It is a pleasure to supervise a group of young people from Scott College who volunteer to go out each week and pick up litter to keep the local area tidy,” said teacher Mr Allen, who supervises the students while they are out collecting rubbish.
“The students always do it with a smile on their faces as they know they are helping to clean the environment. It was great to get involved with Clean Our Patch as part of Keep Britain Tidy month to do a litter pick of the community surrounding Scott College.
“We plan to join them again in the future!’
El Clarke from Clean Our Patch said: “It was a pleasure to have Scott College join us in our Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring clean.
“Their hard work and enthusiasm contributed to the collection of 1044 bags of litter between in one month – an outstanding achievement that is pushing the momentum for change across the city. We thank them and look forward to future work with them.”
