Information for parents

We are different, we are a small school, with small classes and big ideas. Our students have a personal coach who meets with the students every week or so and students have preparartion for work placement and work placements to make them unmissable to future employers.

Scott College has a maximum of 375 students at full capacity so each year group will have just 75 students. That means smaller classes and a higher teacher- to-student ratio.

Small schools like ours combine traditional teaching with a pioneering approach to learning with a focus on teaching through projects individually designed for you. Plus we offer an extended school day to help prepare young people for work and university.

Learning will be rooted in the real world, which helps students develop the skills and experience needed to flourish in life and work.

Scott College OFSTED information

Guided by local healthcare employers, we offer a range of academic and vocational qualifications. These include GCSEs in Chemistry, Physics and Biology, English and Maths at Key Stage 4 . At key stage 5 we offer A Levels and Level 3 Vocational qualifications as well as an access path for those looking to improve their grades.

Our work placements link directly to employment opportunities in the medical and healthcare sector. Students gain a broad range of employability and life skills and we expect our students to progress on to university, further training, apprenticeship and into employment after completing their studies at Scott College.

As a small school we value the link between home and college. You can expect to talk to your child’s coach and tutor each half term and receive a progress report after each teaching and learning cycle, four times a year.
